The National American Legion Vice Commander and our State Commander have just belatedly informed us that April 29 has been designated "American Legion Family Day." There is little time to put together a specific program. However, Post members and their families may participate in an already scheduled event which is a way to gather, be visible, and give back to our community. St. George Parks and Community Services have scheduled "Arbor Day" on April 29th from 9-11 at JC Snow Park, 275 E 900 So. Everyone may join for tree planting, crafts, giveaways, and breakfast refreshments. Wear your service cap and be recognized as a member of the Veteran community helping our city.

There will be an adventure group next Friday April 21! We will be going to the Donkey Dreams Sanctuary in Scenic, AZ from 10-12 MST. We will be touring the facility and spending time with their rescue donkeys. The sanctuary is about 15 min from Mesquite and about a 40-minute drive from Saint George. There are only 5 spots for this group. This group is for veteran’s only and is not open to family members due to having limited spots available.

Our next Veteran's Coalition meeting is set for 1 p.m. on Tuesday, April 18 at the American Legion Post 90 building. If you have something you would like to include on the agenda, please let me know by the end of the week.
I don't believe we have a "speaker" lined up, so if you think your agenda item needs more time than the typical one, let me know and you could be our speaker.
Thanks, David
