Veterans Medicare Seminar

This is  an educational event on Medicare and how it works with Veterans on TRICARE for Life and VA

Healthcare.  Will educate members so they have the tools to make this important decision when they are looking at plans.
Go over why certain TYPE of plans in general do certain things for them as opposed to another TYPE.
This way you can choose when you take a look in October which is the earliest a beneficiary can see the new plans for 2021.
Tools will be given so you can decide what is good for you because you will have options and will be able to choose what would work better for you because people are different.
OCT 1- Plans available to take a look at and not until OCT15-DEC 7 AEP Annual Enrollment Period.

You are invited to a Zoom webinar.

2020 Aug 18 VCSU Meeting

Following a one-month hiatus, the Veterans Coalition of Southern Utah is back! Our next meeting is Tuesday, Aug. 18 at 2 p.m. We will meet via Zoom again, in consideration of those who are most vulnerable to COVID-19.

Also, for those who missed it, the Washington County Fair hosted a program to honor the surviving veterans of World War II. It may come as a surprise to you that there are still approximately 100 WWII veterans living in Washington County. Most are in their mid-90s or older — one veteran who showed up last Thursday was 103! It was great to at least figuratively wrap our arms around them and thank them for their efforts 75 years ago.

The program was recorded. You can watch it here

Welcome Home, Bryan "Cooper" Mount

 Photo from St. George News

Welcome home Bryan "Cooper" Mount: Thursday, 4 p.m.(ish).

Twenty-five year old Cooper Mount, an 82nd airborne paratrooper who was born in St. George, was killed in Syria in July. His body will be transported to St. George on Thursday. The general public is invited and urged to line Main Street, from 100 South north to STG Blvd, and then from the Blvd to Metcalf Mortuary on 288 W. St. George Blvd, and have American flags or patriotic messages on handheld signs. This is a time of mourning and respect, and it is also a time to remember his service and sacrifice. If you wish to attend, please be in position by approximately 3:45 p.m.

Aug 2020 VCSU Meeting

This will be a Zoom call, per recent usual. I will get with Court Pendleton to get a link out to everybody.
David Cordero

Salute to WWII Veterans

Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Harmony Building inside the Washington County Fairgrounds. This event is to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the end of WWII. This may be the last gathering of a significant number (12 to 20) of WWII veterans in our area. This is a private ceremony due to limited space and COVID-19 precautions; however our respective VSOs and members of our coalition are invited. David Cordero will be among a few speakers that include a WWII paratrooper from the Pacific Theater.

It's No Fair!!!

Due to COVID-19 concerns, the American Legion will not be participating in the Washington County Fair this year.
